Judy and the Jeweltones by =mdog02:iconmdog02:

Jersey City Judy and the Jeweltones
are flingin' sparks out into the night.
They're gonna shake your teeth,
they're gonna rattle your bones,
they're gonna keep you feelin' right.

Judy's got an attitude problem,
She's aware of a different tone.
She happened on a trust she could never throw off,
and her life came crashing down...
Judy never felt so alone...

Tommy gave Judy a black eye,
she cried and said she was comin' home.
But like a wounded redwing, aimless in flight
she had to make it up on her own.
She had to suck it up and go it alone.

And so the restless wind that howls all night
picks up Judy's cryin' hurtin' words.
She's got a hard time, bad time story to tell,
and her road's taken dangerous turns...
this child's had some lessons to learn...
she's passed the point of never return.

Sad Eyed Judy met some pissed off girls,
she hid herself down in the Rock 'n Roll
'till she picked up, shook down, brushed herself off,
did what it took to regain her soul
and bring herself back into the fold.

Jersey City Judy and the Jeweltones
are tossin' tears into the shimmering night.
They're gonna give you no warning,
gonna kick your ass,
gonna send you on a different flight;
they're gonna put you in a different light.

Author's Comments

Here's another song, a rocker this time. The usual disclaimer applies: there's a definite tune to this, it rocks and it's best played loud, but sadly there's no way I can pass it along. If I've done even a small part of my job you should be able to pick up the rhythm of the thing though, and hopefully my intent will come across.

Hmm, I do have to admit this one was a LITTLE hard to pick up the rhythm too but I eventually go tit ^^ The picture really applies well to this one. For some reason, I think video game when I play and hear this, a video game where you star as Judy and her guitar. :) Makes me happy. But yeah, so far out of all your songs this one is hardest to catch the rythm to honestly. The picture makes me really happy, I REALLY like the notes on the top.

A few of the lines are a little rough but on the whole it swept me up and carried me away. I am in awe, literally. Marry me and have my children!

Yeah, that's the trouble with posting lyrics unaccompanied by the tune, it's impossible for you guys to hear the thing the way I do, and it's kind of a gamble on my part. I had a lot of fun making the preview image, and you're right, it does have a video game feel to it. All those notes were fun too, I went out and found some free music note fonts and ran them through GIMP and Cool3D. Thanks so much for your comment, I love it. :)

Yay!!!! I'm so happy you like this! I suspect that those rough lines might smooth themselves out a bit if you could hear the song, but then again... who knows? In any case, I'm very pleased that you like the piece as a whole, it's very encouraging. Thanks so much for your words and the :+fav:.

You use gimp! (I knew that and all, but it's amazing everytime I hear it :) )

Been meaning to learn Gimp, but I'm SOOO used to Photoshop, so even though I know Gimp gives more options, I'm constantly loading my ol' Adoba program. But my boyfriend bought an actual copy for us so I figure that I might as well live it up :lick:

Oh yeah, GIMP and I go way back. I wrote a series of very basic newbie GIMP tutorials a few years ago for pinehead.com (when there was a pinehead.com), and they were run on Linux Today and several other online publications. [link] I use Photoshop mainly, but every app has things it does best (I much prefer GIMP's text and map tools), and I often use several programs together to achieve my nefarious ends. =D

A bit hard to pick up for me.. but I do get the point and I respect and love it!
Another awesome piece .. perfection.

As for the image manipulated.. I so love the background one where she is screaming ... so powerfull.
The musical notes at the bottom are amazing. They really add a touch of class!!
Lovely!
:iconvirangelus:
ditto :) If it gets the job done smoothly I have no qualms about crashing my computer with multiple programs at once ^^ My Mac behaves better than any other PC I've ever had though.

I'm so glad you like my song! I regret that I can't present my lyrics in the best way, but I'm overjoyed as long as people can see what I'm getting at, 'cause then I know I'm getting it right. I especially like your comment on the notes, they were fun to do, and I'm all for class. =D
